Nollywood actors Ibinabo Fiberesima and Emeka Ike have reconciled after years of being rivals in the struggle for the position of President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
The crisis was resolved at the 2017 Peace and Reconciliation Conference held in Enugu, which had representatives from 29 AGN state chapters in attendance.
Addressing the media, Ibinabo and Emeka agreed that peace was now very necessary as their division has stagnated the Guild and it has also rubbed off on the Nigerian movie industry.

Ibinabo said, “The division was not about I, Ibinabo, but about the BOT of the Guild whose tenure has longed expired and has refused to allow fresh ideas and innovations and I said NO, because Nollywood is a global phenomenon and the idea of life BOT will not just work."
Emeka added that, ‘’As you know this agitation has cost me a lot but today because of the youths I have embraced peace so we can build the future generation together. This reconciliation is for the young Actors in Nollywood."
Ibinabo also disclosed that her immediate plan was to take out her appeal in the court and call for a proper joint congress of both factions where the process to conduct a national free, fair and transparent election that will herald a new dawn in Actors Guild of Nigeria would be held.
She said, “Today is one of the happiest days of my life because we can now say Peace at last in AGN. Our members should be allowed to choose their leaders in a peaceful manner and by tricks and ambushing.
‘’This division has not helped us in any way. I thank Emeka Ike who has made this day possible.’’
Someone definitely shed a tear in the auditorium. Someone definitely did.
The series of quick misfortunes that clubbed the main character would be hard to take.

If you give your 'brother' millions to build you a house and run businesses in trust; surely it cannot be a DKM decision?
They say don't put all your eggs in one basket. But surely your brother is not a basket. He is a bond.
So when a man is forced into early retirement he propped up his disappointment by leaning back on his brother he trusted with huge investments and a woman he trusted with a big heart.
But cold-blooded betrayal curdles his blood enough for murder and suicide to suddenly look like poetic justice.
Life for Jojo joked closely with Job. No wonder in a moment of his rage Jojo blurted out "God is a coffin", his best attempt at saying God is dead.
It is the unfolding of this theme of betrayal executed with flawless believable acting that would work up a tear duct in the audience.
This was hard to take.
But in the characteristic creativity of Roverman Productions, the object of our sympathy, Jojo, is also the object of our laughter. The one who made us feel hurt, made us feel his heart.
While we comforted Jojo in our hearts, the character comforted us in our ribs.
This Italian 'borga' English-speaking deficiency is a delicacy in this drama.
How do you end up saying "Am not a hunger. Am eat a plane on the flight" when you mean to say you ate food on the flight you took?
"In the abundonment of water, the foolish man is a taste".
"I have come in a pieces' for 'I came in peace".
Jojo said he seduced his coach when he wanted to say he convinced his coach.
And how do you tell a man standing to "rise up on his knees"? How on earth can you say "Octopus is my favourite beverage"?.
How do you end up saying the Lord is your "refugee and stone" in trying to remember the Psalmist say, the Lord is MY REFUGE and MY ROCK?
And just how does a man say "I am going to rise to the bottom of the top"?
"The devil you have know and the angel you have not known, the two of them, they know you." Really?
These lines and I mean a 100 more creative grammatical and lexical catastrophe, litter the role played by Jojo.
His errors looked genuine because he was cast as a domesticated Italian whose limited English meant a free-for-all trial-and-error.
There is no enough leg room in the seats at the National Theatre. For if there were, the role of ushers at an Uncle Ebo Whyte production would not be to show people to their seats but to keep people from falling out of it.
The problem with drama is that you cannot rewind the best scenes. So yes, I watched 'Comeback'. And yes - this Saturday, I will go back to watch comeback again.
In Jojo's voice, "am going to watch another more".
Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo, who was rumored to have quietly and secretly left her marriage to Kenney Rodriguez, has taken to her social media page to react to the fresh report.

More recently, an online news source claimed that the actress had divorced her man and had quietly walked away from the relationship while choosing to remain friends to avoid media backlash.
In reaction to the claim, the actress took to her social media page on Instagram to write:
“The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.
“Dear Nigerian Bloggers, If you are going make up stories about my life or marriage try FACTS.
“Normally I will look at this stupid trending story on me today and look the other way but not TODAY!!! ENOUGH!!!!!! I find your need to create mirage tales of rancor where there are none in chase of a story/news outrageous.
“There’s no story here except a woman trying to balance her family life and work in 2 countries.
“Please LEAVE my FAMILY out of your manufactured made up stories, there are more important stories, real issues in world people are worried about than little old me.
“My only social media cover-up is pretending you ‘Zero journalistic ethics’ people didn’t hurt me by your unfounded and non-factual stories.”

He said, “Maybe one day when you finally become that ‘great king’ you hope to be, I would pay for your counsel if it comes with wisdom and well sought knowledge.”
“But till then my brother take several seats back and crawl into your whole. YOU ARE SAYING ‘TRASH!!!’” he said.

Celebrated musician, Akosua Adjepong has started a campaign to encourage the youth especially young ladies to dress decently.
In an interview on Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix with Doreen Andoh, she stated categorically that the manner in which some women dress lately is appalling.
Akosua Adjepong could not fathom the motive behind exposing one’s body and taking racy photos afterward.

The mother of six in reversing this trend has started a campaign dubbed ‘Cover Up’ to remind young ladies to dress appropriately.
As harmless as her comments may be, it appears that a number of social media users were not enthused by the advice of the artiste and rather descended heavily on her.
They questioned her moral authority to criticise the mode of dressing of some ladies when her biological sister, Stephanie Benson, has become synonymous with indecent dressing.
A number of them have sought to find out why she will rather not focus on having her sister dress decently.
Responding to these views by some social media users on Hitz News @ 1, the ‘Miyɛ Obaa’ singer acknowledged the concerns to do with her sister’s dressing but stressed that the campaign must continue.
She said, she has cautioned Stephanie Benson on countless occasions to be mindful of her dressing.
“I am always on my sister’s neck. I said that when she comes down she should dress the way that I will be happy. I am still on her,” she said.
Akosua Adjepong is set to release her new album in October this year.
We were pretty happy with YouTube TV when we first checked it out, but one of the service’s more glaring problems when it launched was availability, or lack thereof. As such, it comes as welcome news that Google has brought its cord-cutting service to 12 more markets in the US.
The new cities include Cleveland, Denver, Greensboro, Harrisburg, Hartford, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and St. Louis. They join the previous YouTube TV markets of Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Detroit, Houston, Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne, Phoenix, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.
As a quick refresher, YouTube TV lets you watch live and recorded content in any of the aforementioned cities. So long as you are signed in with your Google account, as well as able to pay at least $35 a month, you are good to go. It currently features 57 channels, though the availability of some will depend on your zip code.
When we first took a look at the service, we thought it was a great start for Google, albeit one that needed some ironing out in a few spots. One of those spots is where you can watch YouTube TV, though it seems that Google takes availability seriously. As such, make sure to check back from time to time as we will continually update this page whenever the service gets wider availability.

The Ekiti state governor claimed that the utterances and actions of Buhari which he said did not represent unity, fuelled the agitations, the Punch reports.
Fayose made the statement on Thursday, August 31, in reaction to the meeting of governors of the south-east states with leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The governor said he was committed to the call for full and total restructuring of Nigeria through dialogue and negotiation because it is too late for Nigeria to disintegrate.
Fayose said he was glad that southeast governors have come to the realisation that they cannot ignore the agitation in the southeast region.
He said: “Particularly glad that Southeast governors have come to the realisation that they cannot ignore their own in times like these as agitation is normal and must not be ignored, although the approach should be handled with caution.”
The governor however, noted that certain utterances of the president triggered the agitations.
“The father figure of this country is President Buhari and if his language does not represent unity, there will be agitations like we are witnessing now,” he said.
“A father figure rallies even the bad boys in his house. His utterances and actions when he became President were against the unity of this country.
“How can a president say that he will only attend to the needs of those who gave him 97 per cent vote and neglect others who didn’t vote for him?

“For Nigeria to move forward and in unity; there must be no sectionalism, there must be no oppression and there must be justice and equity.”
Meanwhile, an Igbo socio-political group, Nzuko Umunna, has cautioned the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN) against the move to re-arrest the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Prince Nnamdi Kanu, saying the IPOB leader has not done anything criminal except exercise his fundamental human rights of speech, association and movement.
Vanguard reports that the Igbo group also said it backs the stand of the President-General of the apex Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo who had equally cautioned the AGF to jettison what he termed double standard in making moves for Kanu’s re-arrest and his bail revocation while looking the other way in the case of the northern Arewa Youths Forum who had issued a quit notice to Ndigbo living in all northern states to vacate the region before October 1 or face physical attacks.
NAIJ.com gathered that the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in a message signed by Paschal Mbanefo, the group’s Secretary General and Jude Ndukwe, its Publicity Secretary, it urged the federal government to tour the line of peaceful dialogue with Kanu and his Biafran group as embarked upon by the South-East governor.
In the video below; NAIJ.com TV asked some Nigerians if the prefer restructuring or for Nigeria to split.
