The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that his decision was made known by Governor Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara at the end of the meeting which held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

Yari, said the meeting also reinforced the unity, commitment and strength of all members of the party.

He said: “This meeting shows our unity in the party, shows our strength and our commitment to the party and to Nigerians.”

On his part, Senator Bukar Abba-Ibrahim said the meeting was not convened to remove the leadership of the APC as was speculated.

“You remember, you saw it in some of the newspapers. That our crises had deepened, APC is going to break, there is a plan to kick out our national chairman - none of these things happened.

“It is a big family reunion and we are all happy and this party is going to dominate the Nigerian political space for a very long time to come. I don’t want to predict any number of years,” he said.

While speaking on the outcome of the meeting, the party’s national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, described the caucus as fantastic.

He added that the party would be stronger after its NEC meeting which would hold in Abuja.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the meeting was attended by top party chieftains including Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Bisi Akande, some ministers and presidential aides.
