There are allegations that bags created by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), for free distributions to the children at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp have been diverted for other use.

A Twitter user, Habu Kale Tijjani, alleged that he saw the bags being sold at a market in Kano state.

Tijjani tweeted: "@UNICEF tagged Bags for #IDPs being sold in #Kano was it also made to be sold or some unpatriotic people make the move?"

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that a former chairman of the Adamawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdurrahman Bobboi, has been remanded in jail on the orders of a Federal High Court in Yola for allegedly diverting funds meant for IDPs.

According to reports, Boboi was arraigned alongside Sanda Lamurde, a former commissioner for finance; and Feredan George, a former chief store officer of the State Emergency Management Agency.

The accused persons were sued by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, on a 16-count charge of alleged forgery, fraud and theft.
