Ex-Abacha's aide Al-Mustapha urged to run for presidency in 2019

- The Hausa Fulani Peace Forum advised Hamza Al Mustapha, the former chief security officer to the late head of state, General Abacha, to run for the 2019 presidential election

- The forum said it would continue to support Green Party of Nigeria (GPN) to usher in a leader that would move Nigeria forward

- Al-Mustapha who is the national leader of GPN thanked the forum for its support

The Hausa Fulani Peace Forum, Borno state chapter, has urged retired Major Hamza Al Mustapha, the former chief security officer to the late head of state, General Sani Abacha, to run for the presidency in the 2019 general elections.

Alhaji Ibrahim Sarki Hausari, the state chairman of the forum, also reaffirmed their loyalty to the Green Party of Nigeria , of which Al-Mustapha is the national leader.

Daily Trust reports that Alhaji Hausari made this known in Maiduguri at the weekend.

He also stated that the members, leaders and supporters of the forum would continue to support and rally round the GPN to usher in new young generation leaders that would further move the country forward.

Al-Mustapha, who was in Maiduguri to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of his friend, Zanna Deribe, and open the state party office, thanked them for the reception.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the 2019 presidential election campaign poster for Major Al-Mustapha surfaced online.

That was seven months after the the former Chief Security Officer launched the new political party ahead of the 2019 election.
