Sagay who is the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), made the challenge in reaction to a trending video wherein Maina said he had in his possession documents that would expose the persons behind corruption in Nigeria.

The senior lawyer asked Maina to submit himself to the authorities for prosecution, Vanguard reports.

Sagay also called for the arrest of all those involved in the reinstatement of the ex-pension boss into the civil service.

He said: “The first thing is that he should give himself up. All those who were involved in reabsorbing him should be punished because, as far as I am concerned, they were trying to cover up for him and trying to deceive the country and then wreck the image, which this government has built up as total intolerance of corruption.

Meanwhile, a memo from the office of the head of service of the federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari was aware of the reinstatement of a former chairman of the pension reforms commission, Abdulrasheed Maina, into the civil service.

The memo also stated that the head of service of the federation had warned the president about the damaging implication the recall of Maina would have on the anti-corruption war.

Oyo-Ita in the memo said she met with Buhari after the federal executive council meeting of Wednesday, October 11, where she verbally warned the president against bringing Maina back to the service
